The
South Tampa Community News announces an exciting program of writing classes with the opportunity to meet other writers in a fun setting with your work published in our monthly community newspaper.
We will have a monthly informal class meeting and discussion. Each participant will be invited to provide an article of up to 350 words for our next issue. One will be selected each month by our editor for the print edition, but all will be published online.
When: Wednesday, 6-8 PM. Jan 19, Feb 16, March 16, April 13, May 18, June 15. Each class will feature a writing assignment. Three will be on writing reviews, two will be on topics of local interest, and one of your own choice. (Dates are subject to change with at least 20 day notice)
Location: Offices of the South Tampa Community News in Hyde Park Village at 1627 West Snow Circle, Tampa, FL 33607. Phone is 813-408-6449.
Most classes will be presented by Bill Sharpe, Publisher and Editor.
The two hour class will focus on discussion of the previous submissions, determining the direction of writing, and the new assignment. Assignments must be submitted within seven days of the class to be included in the print edition of the South Tampa Community News.
Light refreshments will be provided at each meeting.
Cost to participate is $50 for the six month program.
